24 April 2025, Tokyo, JAPAN – Blueleaf Energy, a pan-Asian renewable energy platform owned by a Macquarie Asset Management managed fund, has announced the appointment of John Warren as Country Manager for operations in Japan. Mr. Warren brings a long track record of developing and executing large-scale renewable energy projects in Japan since the start of the country’s utility-scale market in 2011. With his expertise, Blueleaf Energy aims to pursue an aggressive growth strategy in the Japanese market.
Mr. Warren has been involved in the Japanese renewable energy sector since 2011, and his experience includes project development, construction, finance, and customer origination for several projects through FIT and CPPA. His immediate focus will be to expand Blueleaf’s greenfield and co-developments efforts while also actively expanding its pipeline through acquisition of late-stage development and operating portfolios in Solar, Onshore wind and BESS projects in Japan.
Prior to joining Blueleaf Energy, Mr. Warren served as Head of Business Development at Vena Energy Japan, where he successfully led multidisciplinary teams focused on project development, customer origination and project contracting.
